How We Met

JD and I both found our way to VSU for college after high school. The Wesley Foundation (the Methodist organization on campus) hosted a barbecue kickoff the first Monday after move in. As soon as JD walked in I couldn't take my eyes off of him. I still to this day remember exactly what he was wearing! JD was a sophomore and I was a freshman so we hung out in different groups, but as the semester went on we began hanging out more and more. One thing led to another and we started dating on October 12th, 2005.

It became rather clear that though God had big plans for us, we were rushing things and needed to refocus until He was the center of our relationship. We made it through several months of ups and downs, but were back together steady and strong the following school year. From skiing to rock climbing, skydiving to Spring Break, New York City to National Championships, and much, much more, we spent the next few years making some of the best memories together.

In May, 2008 JD graduated and moved back to Atlanta for a few years. We had to learn how to do the long distance thing, and with the help of Skype we made it through. While JD was in Atlanta I moved into what is now our home, got both of our puppies, finished my undergrad, and started grad school. JD started working at an amazing company that helped shape him into the awesome man of God that he is today.

JD eventually decided he couldn't stay away from me ;) and moved back down to Valdosta to start grad school. Fast forward two years and JD finished grad school! Fast forward 7 months and here we are! We have become extremely involved in our church, both play for our church softball teams, and have some of the best friends in the world!

It might not seem like too terribly exciting of a story, but apparently Steel's disagrees! We competed in the 2011 Steel's Diamond Dash and won a gift card for having the most romantic story. JD and I don't consider ourselves to be romantic, but rather a romantic comedy. We are the absolute best of friends and make each other laugh every single day.

We are so excited to start the rest of our lives together with our two pupsters. Thank you to everyone for all of your support over these past 6 years!
